I was pulled from the rhythm of the classroom and placed behind a different door, one labelled “special”. Inside, time moved slower. Lessons drifted past me like static. This education wasn’t special, it was isolation.
Each missed connection, a friendship, a teacher’s trust, built a quiet wall around me. Pills and programs promised focus, but instead they blurred the lines of who I was meant to be. In trying to fix me, they made me disappear.
